Position: Finance OfficerWorking area: Gaziantep – Türkiye 1, Damascus – Syria 1Number of positions open: 1 for each locationLast date for application: 14 September 2025 Summary of position:Under the overall supervision of the Finance Coordinator, the Finance Officer will be responsible for managing financial operations for IHH s humanitarian projects in compliance with internal policies and donor requirementsThe Finance Officer will ensure accurate financial documentation, compliance with internal controls, and timely reporting for national and international programsThe position also serves as a link between the Finance Department and operational unitsDuties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure that daily accounting records are accurately and promptly maintainedMonitor and report on cash, bank, and other financial transactionsReview payment requests and verify supporting documentationPrepare project-based expenditure reports and contribute to donor financial reportsSupport monthly budget tracking, income-expense analysis, and financial reportingOrganize digital and physical archiving of financial documentsActively participate in internal control and audit processesLiaise with project, logistics, MEAL, and HR units to ensure financial procedures are followedAssist in budget development, revision, and close-out of projectsConduct periodic field visits to verify documentation and support field finance teamsPerform other duties as assigned by the line manager Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related fieldMinimum of 3 years of experience in finance or accountingPrevious experience in INGOs-NGOs or the humanitarian sector is highly preferredExperience with donor financial reporting e.g., UN, ECHOExperience in working with field teams and supporting unitsExperience with double-entry financial software e.g., QuickBooks, Sage and with ERP systems or digital finance transformationStrong organizational and analytical skillsExcellent attention to detail and documentationProficiency in MS Office tools, especially ExcelAbility to manage workload under pressure and meet deadlinesStrong interpersonal and teamwork skillsFluency in Arabic and English is required for the position in SyriaFluency in Turkish and English is required for the position in TürkiyeAdditional Languages are an asset How to apply: Note: Only the shortlist will be contacted.
